Liza is a seasoned Executive Leadership Coach, Group and Team Coach, Coach Supervisor and Mindfulness Teacher, drawing on a range of modalities and approaches in service of her clients. She is particularly drawn to partnering leaders seeking to make significant, courageous transitions.

Liza has been an intrapreneur in the field of Organisational Coaching, having established a Coaching, Mentoring and Mindfulness Centre in an Investment Bank to provide strategic access to Executive Coaching, Internal Coaching and curated Leadership Programmes, as well as leading a professional Coaching Community of Practice.

In the first four years after qualifying as an Executive Leadership Coach in 2004, Liza was responsible for coaching and mentoring IT professionals both in her role as PMO (Programme Management Office) Manager at MultiChoice, and in leading an internal consulting team, Key Project Solutions, at Rand Merchant Bank.

Liza is characterised as a pioneering leader and a highlight professionally was founding the Coaching and Mentoring Centre in RMB in 2009. This served the professional development of the sizable Internal Coaching team that grew to 80 coaches globally; relationship managing the 60 Executive Coaches as an extension of the team, and having a knack for matching internal clients and teams to Executive or Internal Coaches. The coaching offering included individual, group and team coaching, and many bespoke programmes using coaching in delivery. In 2017 this capability incorporated a Mindfulness Centre in the workplace. The team later merged with the leadership and organisational development functions to become the Global Leadership and Coaching team, and in 2019 Liza was asked to lead the extension of the Coaching and Mindfulness Portfolio for the FirstRand Group across the local and international business. Over the 14 years that Liza led this team, they won two awards for service excellence and an innovation award for the Mindfulness offering.

Personally, Liza coaches Executives and Senior Leaders, partnering many of them through their leadership transitions, as well coaching groups and teams. She has a special love for coaching courageous people in significant transition, be it into senior stretch roles, life changes such as new entrepreneurial endeavours or reshaping their lives for retirement or next career transition. She is also energised by facilitating Leadership Learning and Coaching Circles.

With a corporate career spanning 35 years until March 2023, Liza has worked in FMCG (Beecham Pharmaceuticals and SmithKline Beecham), the Automotive sector (Mercedes-Benz SA), Media/IT (MultiChoice) and Financial Services/IT/Human Capital (Nedbank, Rand Merchant Bank and FirstRand). She has fulfilled both specialist and leadership roles and served on strategic project forums, management committees and operations boards. Her career involved three major career transformations during this time from Public Relations, to IT Programme Management, to Consulting and Executive Coaching. Also, in her earlier adult years, a 4-year career offramp in the first stages of raising her two daughters, followed by extensive studying and personal development whilst integrating career and home responsibilities which she sees continuing throughout her lifetime.

In April 2023 Liza undertook another significant move, leaving RMB and FirstRand after 17 years to join the reputable coaching and consulting firm, CoachMatching, as General Manager, Leadership Coach anad Coach Supervisor. She is thrilled to work alongside the team, the Executive and Resilience Coaches, and the wide range of corporate clients and entrepreneurs in different geographies. She is based in Johannesburg and coaches in-person there, in Cape Town, and virtually.
