Pete has coached individuals and teams ranging from C-suite of multibillion companies to relatively junior managers. Coaching across many sectors, some of his clients include, AccessWorld, BankServ, Discovery Vitality, McCain, Multotec, NCM, Robor, Santam and Xstrata. Pete also coaches and facilitates for Gordon Institute of Business (GIBS) and USB-Ed.
He has accumulated more than 2,000 hours’ individual / team coaching and facilitation experience and is a registered member of both Comensa (Coaching and Mentoring Association of South Africa) and EMCC (European Mentoring and Coaching Council).
Pete has been coaching and facilitating full-time since early 2015. He obtained his Certificate in Coaching Leadership from Linkage Inc. in 2006 as well as having completed various coach training. He is an Accredited Practitioner in the Enneagram having completed both Levels 1 and 2 through the Integrative Enneagram Institute
Pete has more than 30 years’ business and management experience in multiple sectors including engineering, manufacturing, leadership development, international trade and supply chain.
During this period, he has operated at all levels of management including 12 years Board experience of which seven were as MD of Safcor Panalpina (now BPL, part of the Bidvest group), a multibillion multi branch company which was extensively involved in an international network. He served as a member of numerous boards, various Audit, Credit, Risk and Project Committees and as Board Chairman of a JV company. His portfolio included executive responsibility for a JV operating in the Zimbabwean, Zambia, Malawi and Tanzania.
During his tenure as MD the organisation undertook a major acquisition, featured in the DTI Top 300 Companies, the CRF “Top Companies”, was sector winner of the Deloitte “Best Company to Work For” in 2008 whilst also achieving multiple quality and customer satisfaction awards.
Pete also has experience in start-ups, having been appointed to open the South African operation of FedEx Trade Networks. This involved a greenfield start-up in 2011 and he managed the company from conceptualisation and initial implementation to an ongoing concern. Simultaneously he started his part-time executive coaching practice.
Pete is an Alumni of University of Stellenbosch Business School (USB), having obtained his MPhil Management Coaching (cum laude) in 2014. In 1988 he obtained his MBA through the University of Cape Town in 1988 and he qualified as a BSc Civil Eng. (UKZN) in 1985.
